I am Carol Somberg: compositor, desktop publisher, editor, proofreader, darkroom operator, team manager, photo researcher, and lead graphic designer. I have been all these things and more over the course of 25 years in the publishing world. For the last 14 plus years, I have been a successful independent textbook designer, logging over 200 design projects during that time working in QuarkXPress, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. This amazing opportunity to be a freelance graphic artist has allowed me to have the flexibility needed to raise two exceptional daughters (one who is now in her senior
year at GWU in Washington DC, and one who is now a junior at West High School in Madison), to be the right arm for my amazing husband, and simply to maintain the Somberg stronghold with all its moving parts.
